The Resort Unveils New Public Art Display

When you live at The Resort, you’re a member of the wonderful and vibrant community of Rancho Cucamonga. To show our pride in being part of this community, The Resort, in partnership with INSIDE OUT and Healthy RC, has unveiled an all-new public art display on the art wall at Club on 6th on Saturday, February 8.

While building The Resort, a distinctive new master plan in Rancho Cucamonga, Lewis Community Developers wanted to add something a little more personal—a way to honor the life and culture of the established community while enhancing the quality of life through the beauty of public art.

The inspiration came after Randall Lewis of Lewis Community Developers saw a documentary called Faces Places, which follows artists Agnes Varda and JR as they travel across rural France creating portraits of the people they come across. Lewis knew he wanted to bring something similar to The Resort, leading him to find JR’s INSIDE OUT project, a global art initiative designed to bring awareness to social movements and allow everyone to share what they are passionate about through portraits and stories.

The goal was then to find a Rancho Cucamonga cause to bring into the spotlight. A top contender was Healthy RC, a program that provides services to help residents while spreading the message of living with a healthy mind, healthy body and healthy earth. Having been involved with Healthy RC for quite some time, Lewis brought the idea to Tim McGinnis, vice president of regional planned communities at Lewis Community Developers.

“We’re honored to be partnering with and spreading awareness of a worthy program that’s dedicated to the overall health of the community. Having already had such a huge impact on current citizens, this program is also important to future residents at The Resort,” says McGinnis.

Now, with the help of the INSIDE OUT project, the first exhibition on the art wall at the Club on 6th will display the smiling faces of Rancho Cucamonga citizens who were happy to share how Healthy RC has positively affected their lives. Through the power of public art, we appreciate this unique opportunity to spread their messages and better the lives of others within the community.

A big thank you to INSIDE OUT, Healthy RC and everyone else involved in bringing this project to life. It’s the people within the community that make all the difference, and we are proud to be part of Rancho Cucamonga. Stop by the art wall at the Club on 6th at The Resort to take in the beauty and inspiration!
